BPI Written Exam - Section 2 Buildings and Their Systems
We always request a client have their utility bill history ready for the auditor during the scheduling of the audit. A utility bill history can let you know if there is any hope of saving them money with efficiency measures (no lifestyle change) vs conservation measures (put on a sweater and turn down your thermostat). If the base load energy usage is high, you are likely to find more conservation measures. If you see a seasonal usage spike in the summer or winter, you know their energy usage is more heating and cooling related and you'll likely find recommendations for insulation, duct sealing, air sealing and pool pumps.
